THE NATIONAL CHIEF IMAM BLESSES CREDIT UNIONS FOR THEIR COMMUNITY IMPACT

Fadama, Accra — The National Chief Imam, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, has extended his blessings and commendation to credit unions operating within the Fadama community for their continuous contribution to community development and financial empowerment.

During a courtesy visit by the management team and members of the Youth Savings Club of the New Fadama Cooperative Credit Union (NEFCCU), the Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Madam Agnes Selasi Ahiamadze, and the member of the Board of Directors, Mr. Stephen Otoo, presented the main purpose of their visit to the Chief Imam. They informed him about the GH¢30,000 cash prize the Union wants to use to help the community through the upcoming youth quiz by the youth savings club of NEFCCU. Winners get GH¢5,000 each, second place also gets GH¢3,000 each, and 3rd gets GH¢1,500 each, and other consolation prizes for the schools and participants. The delegation also sought the blessings of the National Chief Imam for the success of the quiz competition.

During the engagement, the Chief Imam acknowledged the credit unions for their structured support to families, workers, traders, and especially the youth. He noted that their work continues to strengthen financial stability and promote responsible money management within the community.

A major highlight of the commendation was the recognition of the Youth Savings Club, an initiative designed to instill savings culture and financial discipline among young people. The Chief Imam praised the program as a crucial investment into the future of the community.

Present at the meeting were members of the Board of Directors, the Manager, and selected staff of the credit unions, who expressed appreciation for the Chief Imam’s acknowledgment. They reaffirmed their commitment to advancing financial literacy, improving service delivery, and expanding programs that benefit both adults and the youth.

The blessing from the National Chief Imam is regarded as a strong moral endorsement, reinforcing the credit unions’ mission to promote financial discipline, economic empowerment, and sustainable development within the Fadama community.
